The purpose of the Image Resource manager is to demonstrate the use of the ‘imageResource.dll’ lotus extension (LSX). The LSX function library contains several methods that Notes/Domino developers can use in their code to manage image resources within an R5 environment. The methods available through the use of the LSX and through conventional Lotus Script are as follows. These functions can be executed on-the fly without the use of the Notes Designer. Functions include :- Create image resources; Delete image resources; Export image resource to a given file path; Check to see if a image resource exists; Sets up a Notes View to display all Image Resources - Can be used in a DBLookup/DBColumn etc; Can return a document collection with handles to all image resources; Can return a comma separated list with all image resource $Titles; Can return a specific image resource handle; The methods above can be implemented easily and the database provides a guide on how to implement the LSX and Notes class including syntax and easy to understand examples. A windows registry class is also provided to allow developers to automatically register the LSX with the windows registry as is several functions to detach and install the actual files.
